The Mission Fund supports our on-going work as we steward and celebrate the 740-mile waterway, and as we share our expertise with communities the Trail winds through to help them build more diverse local and regional economies.
The NFCT mission is to connect people to the Trail's natural environment, human heritage, and contemporary communities by stewarding, promoting, and providing access to canoe and kayak experiences along this route.
Delivering on this mission is no small task, and we have organized our efforts into three program areas:
- Waterway Stewardship: Maintaining the physical trail, portages, and campsites.
- Community Economic Development:Positioning and promoting our trail in concert with local partners to increase sustainable tourism dollars flowing into the rural communities along our route.
- Connecting People and Place: Collaborating with communities to develop projects that enable meaningful recreational experiences, such as our signature youth outdoors program, the Northern Forest Explorers Program.
Your donation makes a difference in our ability to staff and support the grassroots work that brings our mission to life. Thank you!
