Board of Directors
Northern Forest Canoe Trail
Board of Directors Recruitment
The Northern Forest Canoe Trail Board of Directors is seeking individuals with a passion for paddling and an interest in the Northern Forest Region in the Northeastern United States to join in the oversight of America’s best water trail. The 740-mile route follows historic Native American travel routes from Old Forge, New York through Vermont, Québec, and New Hampshire, to Fort Kent, Maine.
NFCT’s board provides strategic direction, fiduciary oversight and governance to the organization and complements an exceptional staff and many committed volunteers. Service on the board of directors involves thoughtful decision making, a lot of fun, and the satisfaction of serving the paddlers and outdoor recreationalists who use the trail, and the communities that live nearby.
NFCT directors serve three-year terms, and attend regularly scheduled board meetings.
If serving this organization and giving back to the paddling community appeals to you, submit an application package to Executive Director Karrie Thomas at email@example.com. The application should consist of:
- A completed application form.
- A resume and letter of interest.
- Reference from someone who can speak to your interest in serving on the NFCT Board of Directors.
Applications are invited for 2017 candidacy or future years. Once submitted, an NFCT representative will contact you for a phone or in-person conversation.
