NFCT Stewardship Field Season
The NFCT is focused on being the safest most user-friendly trail possible. Generous supporters, dedicated staff, seasonal contractors and interns, along with many dedicated volunteers make this possible. We have several ways that you can be involved in the NFCT's field efforts:
Give to the Trail Fund: The Trail Fund allows us to gain the funding we use to buy tools, signs, materials, and pay employees and interns.
Participate in a Waterway Work Trip (WWT): Each season we develop at least one WWT in each state. These are weekend long volunteer opportunities with a minimal fee to cover food. Volunteers work alongside the NFCT Stewardship Intern crew to perform on the ground projects. The weekend experience also incorporates group paddles and eating tasty food. WWTs are posted on the NFCT website in March.
Become an NFCT Trail Maintainer: Trail Maintainers adopt a 15-20 mile segment of the NFCT. Trail Maintainers recieve an NFCT Maintenance Manual, trainings, and use of a canoe and tools. Contact the NFCT Trail Director for more information or to sign-up.
Become an NFCT Stewardship Intern: The season runs from the middle of June to the middle of August. You will recieve leadership and trail construction/maintenance training. You will work on projects in beautiful locations throughout the Northern Forest. Click here for more information or to apply.
