Northern Forest Canoe Trail Vacation Packages offer you access to some of the finest experiences on our 740-mile trail. If you are looking for adventure and to be replenished in a wild and unscripted place, seek no further.

These packages include the services of expert local guides who will organize logistics and offer insight into local human and natural history. Packages also highlight some of the best lodging, dining and shopping establishments in the region.  You'll enjoy the convenience of paying just one flat fee for your entire vacation getaway!

Vermont/Quebec:

Backroads and Quietwaters

A 2-day trip combining a paddle along the quietwaters of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom and an easy bike ride along back roads and bike paths to the Canadian border, where quaint Quebecois villages await further exploration. Includes lodging at the Little Gnesta Inn, boat rentals and shuttling services, bicycle rentals, and a delicious lunch at an area cafe.
  • Clyde River Trekkers: Adjacent to the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, the Clyde River House is close to a myriad of paddling, fishing, hiking, and cycling opportunities. It is ideal for those seeking solitude, encounters with wildlife, and paddlers of all abilities and experience.This “build your own” vacation package is a comfortable, flexible, and convenient way to explore the unique opportunities this region provides. Includes area maps and guides, optional boat and bike rentals, shuttling services, trail passes, and picnic lunches.
  • Northeast Kingdom's Pedal and Paddle: Our most popular package! A two-day exploration featuring paddling on the scenic Clyde River and off-road cycling at the world-famous Kingdom Trails network in East Burke. Includes choice of lodging in East Burke, picnic lunches, trail passes, maps, shuttle services, and restaurant vouchers.
  • Explore The Townships: Ever want to paddle just north of the border? Now is your chance! We've partnered with the Magestik Bed and Breakfast and through-paddler recommended outfitter Canoe and Co. to offer visitors a unique experience in the Eastern Townships. Camp out or sleep in style, and take time to explore the headwaters to the Missisquoi River and the region's scenic trails, backroads, and villages. Care for a cross border adventure? Experienced paddlers can journey to Richford Vermont and spend a night at the historic Grey Gables Inn.
  • Montgomery Marvels: A 2-day getaway combining a paddle on the Missisquoi River with mountain hiking in the Jay Peak area.  Package includes 2 nights of lodging, meals, a guided paddle on the Missisquoi River and a day of hiking and riding the Aerial Tram at Jay Peak, with the visitor friendly town of Montgomery Center serving as your home base.
  • Newport Summer Vacation: A six-night vacation in the Northeast Kingdom for families on a budget! Options include paddling, cycling, site-seeing, hiking, swimming, and educational tours, with a Jay Peak area vacation rental serving as a home base.

New Hampshire:

  • Eagles on Umbagog - Journey by pontoon boat to the broad and pristine waters of Lake Umbagog; home to a remarkable diversity of wildlife including nesting bald eagles and moose. This package includes 2 nights at a well-kept, newly renovated motel, a pontoon boat tour to Umbagog's eagle nests with a guide from TNT Guide Service, naturalist interpretation, a trail lunch and NFCT's Map 7.

 

  • Calm Currents of the Connecticut Package- Come and see for yourself why NFCT enthusiasts ranked the CT River as the Best Weekend Paddle on the Trail! This 2-day adventure begins in Colebrook, NH and brings visitors south past the picturesque farmland and mountain views on the Connecticut River. This package includes 3 nights lodging, 2 days of guided canoeing or kayaking with a skilled guide from Outdoor ESCAPES New Hampshire, naturalist interpretation, boat and select gear rentals, shuttle services, 2 trail lunches, 1 breakfast, 1 dinner and NFCT's Map 7.
  • Paws-N-Paddles - This 1-day adventure begins with a morning of rafting on the Androscoggin River, NH's most reliable whitewater, with the guides at Raft NH. After lunch, you will explore the nearby wooded trails on a rolling dog-sledding tour and learn the commands and techniques for mushing!
  • Hike, Bike and Paddle - This 3-day adventure includes a guided paddling tour of the dazzling Lake Umbagog, a bike tour past the waterfalls and streams of the Dartmouth Grant, and a moderate hike to the spine tingling views of Dixville Notch. Lodging in the pine paneled rooms of a newly renovated motel, an inn surrounded by orchards, mountain vistas and horse fields or a lovely rental cabin. Package includes 3 nights lodging, guides services and related gear rentals from Outdoor ESCAPES New Hampshire, select meals and Northern Forest Canoe Trail Map 7.

Maine Woods Discovery, a collaborative effort involving several of inland Maine's leading tourism providers, now offers a variety of richly experiential vacation packages representing Maine's most distinctive, off-the-beaten-path treasures.  Through the program, all are invited to explore the natural landscapes and creative communities that make any visit to a Maine Woods destination an unforgettable adventure.  Several of these packages are located along the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.
