Quick Reference: NFCT Rivers, Lakes, and Streams
When: July 24, 2010
What: We think you all know by now that 2010 is our 10th Anniversary. We're proud and excited to have reached this milestone, and we are enjoying recognizing this event with members, partners, and friends. As part of our 10th Anniversary Party in Rangeley, Maine July 24-25, we are hosting a trail-wide event: Paddle 740 Miles in One Day.
Here's how it works:
- On July 24, paddlers at locations along the entire length of our trail will hop into their canoes or kayaks and paddle for a mile, 10 miles, 17.2 miles...whatever length works for you.
By 5 pm on July 24, all paddlers will report their mileage by sending it in to
740@northernforestcanoetrail.org, OR by calling or texting 802-279-8302 and leaving a message. Info needed will be
where you paddled and
how many total miles you are reporting for
how many paddlers (e.g., one person could report 100 miles paddled by 10 people on the Connecticut River)
At our
Birthday Dinner and Party on the evening of the 24th, we will announce the achievement of 740 miles paddled in one day!
Interested paddlers will pre-register so we can set ourselves up for success! We encourage you to gather a group of friends and family (10 people paddling 10 miles = 100 miles, right?) so that all miles paddled are fun miles!
