This picturesque stretch of the Upper Androscoggin passes through the 13 Mile Woods Wilderness which is owned and maintained by the town of Errol and protected through Forest Legacy conservation easements. Anglers come here to ply their trade, particularly in the Trophy Stretch (fly fishing only) of rapids below the Errol Dam. Camping is available (3.5 miles in )at the Mollidgewock State Park and further downstream with private campgrounds. Shuttle services are also available.
