Recommended Trips > Lake Memphremagog South Bay
South Bay, Lake Mempremagog (view in map)
"South Bay starts in Newport, close to the Canada border, but you quickly leave the sounds of the city behind as you paddle south into the bay and into the slowly meandering Barton and Black inlet rivers. This is a great area to observe many wetland species. You should see the rare black tern here" - AMC Quiet Water Guidebook (New Hampshire and Vermont) p 266
