This spectacular lake is home to a wide variety of bird life. Nesting bald eagles, osprey and loons can be observed feeding their young. A quiet visitor may also encounter moose, bear and beaver. The small visitor center at the Refuge Headquarters is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Umbagog and its tributaries are popular destinations for brook trout, landlocked salmon and small mouth bass fishing.
