5/10 Upper Nulhegan River, Bloomfield/Island Pond, VT

Explore the narrow and winding headwaters of the Nulhegan River, one of Vermont’s most wild waters. We’ll paddle about 7 miles through alder swamps and wetlands. Expect to get your feet wet lifting over beaver dams. Trip leaders Chris Gill and Russ Ford will share their knowledge about the area and its plants and wildlife as the group moves downstream. We’ll travel at a mellow pace, allowing ample opportunity to watch and listen for birds and to photograph this scenic waterway.
