Assistant Trail Director
The Assistant Trail Director will work with our Trail Director, a summer stewardship crew, volunteers, community groups, and land managers to complete waterway access, campsite, and portage trail projects and assist with community events, with a focus on the western section of our trail (NY, VT, and Quebec). Stewardship Interns (Summer 2026)
Six stewardship interns will work as teams to complete stewardship projects along the canoe trail. One three person team will work on projects from New York to Maine, and the other will be based in the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Learn more.

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board provides strategic direction, fiduciary oversight and governance of NFCT.
