The NFCT will close out its 2025 Adirondack Race Series with the Long Lake Long Boat Regatta on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Hosted in partnership with Long Lake Recreation and Tourism, the Regatta welcomes paddlers of all skill levels, from ramblers and touring boats to competitive classes. The event also features the North American Voyageur Canoe Championships, the Adirondack Kayak Championship and the Northeastern Collegiate Cup race for co-ed (two male and two female) C-4 Stock teams along with the “Everything Goes” race.
“This race is a celebration of the paddling season and is as much a meet-up as it is a race,” said NFCT Executive Director Karrie Thomas. “We welcome everyone from serious racers to people just looking to get out and paddle together one last time before the temperatures start dropping. It’s great for paddlers that are curious about racing as the course is very forgiving with an easy bail out at the half way point.”
The race is a 10-mile figure eight course beginning and ending at the Long Lake Public Beach.
The Long Lake Lions and the Adirondack Hotel will provide chili and cornbread at the finish line on the beach in Long Lake. Meals will be served starting at noon and proceeds will benefit scholarship funds for kids to participate in week-long paddling trips in the Adirondacks next summer. All are invited to join for the picnic.
All New York Paddlesports Racing Association (NYPRA) boat classes are welcome along with the everything goes category. Pre-registration is available and day-of registration will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. at the beach; the race starts at 11 a.m.
