Horicon, NY – We are excited to announce the seventh annual Great Brant Lake Canoe Race will take place on Saturday, August 8.
Paddlers will begin at Hoyt’s Beach at the north end of Brant Lake and paddle 6 miles to the town beach on Mill Pond in Horicon. The race is also a costume contest and paddlers are encouraged to dress their best!
The race begins at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the award ceremony at 12:30 p.m. at Horicon Community Center. Nonprofit and community organizations will join us to engage participants and spectators after the race.
The original Brant Lake Canoe Race began in 1974, operated by dedicated local volunteers. We are excited to continue the tradition, taking this opportunity to showcase Brant Lake as a resource for community-based recreation.

This year, we are pleased to share that the Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) has become an operational partner to the Brant Lake Canoe Race. We are excited to support this terrific and far-reaching organization.

Proceeds will benefit the Bob and Gert Newton Campership Fund at Camp Read and the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.
