The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is an equal opportunity employer.  Our staff work across the Northern Forest Region supporting communities and paddlers with access and inspiration for economic vitality and outdoor adventures.

The next generation of land managers get their start each summer on volunteer and intern crews across the nation. The Northern Forest Canoe Trail employs hard-working, inspired teams of young people for our ten-week field season to maintain and improve our 740-mile water trail. Through a summer shaped by sweat and toil participants learn how to work together, how to lead a group, the environmental impacts of outdoor activities and how to protect our waterways from them. They learn real hard trail-building skills and the satisfaction of a job well done.

Stewardship internship applications are available in January and positions filled in March. The field season runs from mid-June to mid-August.
