From the Field: NFCT Special Projects Intern

By Adam Craten

It’s August 10th and today is my last and final day working with the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. I remember like it was yesterday…walking into the office on my first day May 7th. I guess time flies when you’re having fun! However, this internship has been quite the experience this summer. I met and worked with some very wonderful people. I traveled all over New England and truly saw some magnificent sights along the way.

Overall I got a lot accomplished this summer. Walter and I completed the removable moldering privy with the help of Abe Noe-Hays from Full Circle Compost Consulting which was big! Installed 11 sign-in boxes along the NFCT and delivered 5 hubs to trail maintainers.  I could write more but I’ll keep it short and sweet. Thank you everyone for your help and keep it real! Till next time…
