Tupper Lake 8-Miler Set for June 21

The Tupper Lake 8-Miler Canoe, Kayak & SUP Race will take place on Saturday, June 21, part of Celebrate Paddling ADK.

The 8-Miler takes place annually in June. The race starts at the Town of Tupper Lake Boat Launch on State Route 30. The course takes paddlers to the Route 30 bridge, up the Raquette River to the Oxbow and then back to the boat launch.

The Tupper Lake 8-Miler is a New York Paddlesports Race Association (NYPRA) points race for canoes and kayaks. There will also be a special class and awards for packboaters. The entry fee is $30; the first 60 registrants will receive a t-shirt. An awards ceremony and barbeque will be held after the completion of the race. All race proceeds support the Adirondack Health Foundation’s Heart Health Initiative.

To register in advance, visit 8miler.com. Onsite registration will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on the day of the race.
