Film Fest Returns to Concord

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail, NRS and the Contoocook River Canoe Company present the 18th annual World Tour Paddling Film Festival at Red River Theatres on Wednesday, June 14.

The Paddling Film Festival is an international adventure film tour presenting the world’s best paddling films of the year — whitewater, sea kayaking, canoeing, rafting, SUP, action and lifestyle — in cities and towns across Canada, the United States and around the world. The June 14 installment will be held at Red River Theatres in downtown Concord.

Tickets for the festival are $12 online, $15 at the door, with a student rate of $10 with student I.D. Online sales end at noon on June 14. Show time is 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30. Attendees are encouraged to come early to socialize. Refreshments will be available and the event includes a live raffle.

“It’s been nearly four years since we’ve been able to host in-person film festivals due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are beyond excited to gather with our fellow paddling enthusiasts once again,” said NFCT Executive Director Karrie Thomas. “The films we’ll showcase this year are inspiring, action packed and thought provoking, and a great reason to come hang out with the New Hampshire paddling community and get psyched for the paddling season.”

Audiences will see films about everything from expert whitewater showcases, sea kayakers exploring remote frozen coastlines and motivating environmental documentaries to epic standup paddle boarding quests and grueling kayak fishing battles.
