WAITSFIELD, Vt. The Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) will be at the 15th Annual Adirondack Paddlefest in Old Forge, N.Y. on May 17–19. The event is hosted by Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company and is the largest on-water canoe and kayak sale in the country featuring 75 of the leading manufacturers of canoes, kayaks, and accessories. More than 1,000 canoes and kayaks will be available for sale at special show prices, as well as all the gear you need to get out on the water.
Stop by for on-water classes and to demo canoes, kayaks and
stand up paddle boards on First Lake, which is also the start of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. Visit NFCT’s booth to see their maps, guidebook and other trip planning materials, and to get answers to questions about the Trail, whether looking for a family fun day paddle, or a 740-mile adventure from Old Forge to Fort Kent, Maine.
Additional weekend events include a concert Friday evening by the Gibson Brothers, the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainers of the Year. On Saturday, the 2nd Annual Adirondack Paddlers Photo Contest awards will be handed out, and Saturday evening there will be a screening of the Reel Paddling Film Festival.
