Sun and water on the Allagash!

By John Little, Missisquoi River Basin Association

Hi All! I just got back last night from a great trip on the allagash ith my daughter. Yes its a long way from the Missisquoi River, but I used to guide for the Chewonki Foundation ages ago, and got to paddle all over that part of ME. We saw 17 Moose, 12 Otters, 1 Black Bear (sitting in the river cooling off!), Bald Eagles, Ospreys, and a host of other wild life. All the rain this summer paid off with a great trip, plenty of water in the rapids, and unbelievably, mostly southerly breezes that made the trip through the lakes “a breeze”, as opposed to fighting the NW winds. Hope you’ve all gotten out with the past couple weeks of great weather.       John
