Androscoggin River Trail (Greenway Section)

The southernmost 50 miles of the Androscoggin River Trail is the site of the Androscoggin Greenway, a partnership effort to preserve open space and revitalize the urban and village waterfronts along the Androscoggin River and its tributaries.

The river is predominantly quickwater and flatwater (with some short Class I-III rapids) as it flows through a largely rural section of Maine. There are several dams in this reach, some with lengthy carries, but they can be avoided by day paddlers. Opportunities for spotting wildlife abound!

The Androscoggin River Trail is managed by the Androscoggin Watershed Council. More Info.
