WAITSFIELD, Vt. – The Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) and the Montgomery Area Community Alliance (MACA) have teamed to create the "Montgomery Marvels" vacation package, which combines paddling on the Missisquoi River with some of the best activities and services that northern Vermont has to offer.
The two-day package includes canoeing or kayaking a scenic section of the NFCT on the Missisquoi with Montgomery Adventures, a guided hike on wooded trails in Montgomery maintained by the Hazen’s Notch Association, and a ride up Jay Peak on the Jay Peak Resort aerial tram for a panoramic fall or summer view of the big-sky landscape.
Vacationers can choose their accommodations in Montgomery Center at the luxurious Phineas Swann Bed and Breakfast Inn or The Coach House, offering more affordable rental apartments. The package also includes three meals each day at local restaurants, all recreational gear, and an NFCT paddle route map. Package prices start at $501 for two adults or $892 for four adults.
