Northern Forest Canoe Trail Hiring Community Outreach Coordinators

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is hiring for two community outreach coordinator positions to expand its work in Maine and New York. The non-profit maintains the 740-mile water trail that runs programs in both the Adirondacks and northern and western Maine.

“As the longest water trail in the nation, these new positions will help us run existing events and programs in our bookend states, as well as identify new opportunities to engage paddlers,” said Karrie Thomas, executive director for the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.

The Maine-based coordinator position is a 20-hour per week position, and the New York-based coordinator position is a 10-hour per week position. Coordinators will work closely with the Waitsfield, Vermont-based executive director. Candidates should have a strong affinity for the outdoors, and be comfortable working remotely.

Successful candidates will coordinate local events, trips and volunteers; work with businesses, municipalities and partners that support recreational tourism; and participate in state-based activities promoting outdoor recreation in the Northern Forest Region.

Job descriptions for the Maine Community Outreach Coordinator and the New York Community Outreach Coordinator can be found at www.northernforestcanoetrail.org.
