The Perron Brother’s Make it Happen in Richford

We love when they come back!  Sam Perron, 2009 NFCT Stewardship Intern Alumni, gave me a call back in October hoping to have a chance to work on the trail.  (I think he got bit by the Trail Bug when he performed his internship back in ’09). We had a few loose ends to tie up in Richford, VT as part of our Comprehensive River Access Project, so we worked together to pin down the details.  Sam recruited his brother Silas and before we knew it we were meeting up at a park and ride to pass of a Stewardship Canoe and the needed tools to perform the trail work.

The Perron Brothers on the Missisquoi before cracking into some trail work.

With Sam’s past training and eye for trail layout the two made quite an impact in a weekend.  They put in trail tread leading to the newly installed campsite to help guide people from the access to the camping location.

Before……..

………and the dramatic “after”.

Silas did not hesitate to tackle any gnarly stumps that got in his way:

Good trail work lies in the details.

New campsite location.

Campsite layout.
