The Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT), in partnership with FarOut Guides, has launched a new trail app, just in time for the beginning of paddling season.
The new GPS-enabled guide features over 1,400 waypoints, site photos and several base maps, which work online and can be downloaded for offline, out-of-service use.
“It’s so exciting to finally have an app for the canoe trail,” said Noah Pollock, NFCT’s stewardship director. “By allowing paddlers to quickly find themselves on the route, determine distances to upcoming sites of interest, and read and post comments on trail conditions, FarOut’s guide will be an incredible complement to our existing maps and guides.”
“We’re very excited to partner with the NFCT and help more people confidently navigate their trips on this awesome paddling route,” said Natalie McMillan, chief marketing officer at FarOut Guides. “The NFCT is known for their attention to paddlers and that really came through in the process of working with them to build this highly detailed and helpful guide.”
The new app is available for purchase as a guide for the entire 740-mile canoe trail, or for individual sections. To purchase the app, users can download the FarOut Guides app on their smartphone and search for the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, or visit bit.ly/faroutnfct.
