This fall, paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts have a chance to bid on amazing experiences and gear, for a good cause: supporting Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) stewardship and programming.
NFCT’s online auction will take place Nov. 14 to Dec. 1. Proceeds from the auction support stewardship projects, youth programs, events, and more. NFCT’s goal is to raise over $25,000 through this year’s auction.
“Our online auction is a fun, engaging way for paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts to win some awesome gear and experiences while also supporting the 740-mile canoe trail,” said Karrie Thomas, NFCT’s executive director. “The money we raise helps to keep the waterways clean and accessible for all users, from thru-paddlers and weekend warriors to families looking to try out kayaking or go fishing.”
“The auction also benefits programs like our Waterway Work Trips, the Missisquoi Paddle-Pedal, and the Northern Forest Explorers,” Thomas added. “Our auction is a win-win for the NFCT community.”
Each year, NFCT’s team gathers a variety of quality products and services from trail-side businesses and corporate partners to appeal to paddling and outdoor enthusiasts. Between NFCT supporters and its partners at paddling.com, the auction is promoted to an international audience of over 300,000 paddlers and outdoor adventurers.

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is a 740-mile water trail tracing historic travel routes across New York, Vermont, Quebec, New Hampshire, and Maine. NFCT provides stewardship for access points, campsites, and portages, and also works with landowners that make passage through the waterways possible. Additionally, NFCT promotes awareness and use of the trail and assists with trip planning.
