Family Paddling Day at Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail and the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge will be offering a family paddling day on Saturday, July 18 at the refuge at Louie’s Landing (Mac’s Bend Road) in Swanton, Vermont.

Morning instruction will focus on beginner basics like how to fit a life jacket, how to get in and out of a canoe, and how to paddle. Participants can then test their new skills during an easy group paddle on the Missisquoi River, and look for bald eagles, osprey, great blue herons, and basking turtles.

Space is limited; advance registration is required. Register for free be email at kevin@northernforestcanoetrail.org or by phone at 802-535-5855. A complimentary lunch will be provided at the refuge visitor center by the Friends of the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge.
