Auction Helps Protect & Steward Regional Waterways

Bid on canoe, kayak and camping gear, as well as guided paddling trips in the Adirondacks and Shaw & Tenney NFCT paddlenorthern New England, at the Northern Forest Canoe Trail’s 10th Annual Online Auction. There are more than 350 items including a kayak, a standup paddle board, life jackets, dry bags, backpacks, camping gear, and beautifully handcrafted wooden paddles.  

This month-long fundraiser supports the longest inland paddling trail in the nation which links 740 miles of lakes, rivers and streams in the Northern Forest Region between New York, Vermont, Québec, New Hampshire and Maine.The water trail is managed by the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, Inc., a non-profit that maintains the trail corridor and promotes regional tourism and active outdoor communities.

Proceeds from the auction support NFCT’s mission and programs including water quality efforts to educate and enable paddlers to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. Many states are adopting watercraft inspection campaigns, and the Northern Forest Canoe Trail is a leader in adapting Clean Drain Dry practices for canoe and kayak users. Funds raised by the auction will also enable the Northern Forest Canoe Trail to maintain access,campsites and carries, and to provide programs that get local youth and paddlers out on the water. 

Leaders in the outdoor industry such as Kokatat, makers of paddling clothes and gear, and Exped, an innovator in camping gear and outerwear, are supporting the auction as well as Paddling.net, a popular canoe and kayak online resource. Other auction supporters include Bending Branches, Eureka, Gregory Mountain Products, Northwest River Supply (NRS), Shaw &Tenney and Wenonah.
